Regional Wine Committee
The Regional Wine Committee Weinviertel consists of 21 representatives, all from typical wine growing businesses in the Weinviertel. These members are wine growers, wine merchants, producers of sparkling wines and representatives of the cooperatives. They are nominated for office by the Minister for Agriculture and serve for five years working in an honorary capacity. The Wine Board’s task is to deal with all subjects related to the business of the specific wine growing region.
Assignment of the Wine Committee
- Sales coordination
- Market research and marketing activites in collaboration with the AWMB (Austrian Wine Marketing Board)
- Controlling and assurance of product quality
- Creating quality wines characteristic for the region
